I’m moving AGAIN!!

This is hopefully the LAST time that I move my blog- first blogger, then wordpress, and now finally my own self-hosted website. I am moving for different reasons- I want to get into freelance writing/blogging as a career and I’ve heard that having your own site allows for so much more freedom and I can also have loads more options for theme layouts, etc. You can come check me out at http://www.fitandfabulouslife.com I’m still in the process of moving the remainder of my posts over and setting up a new theme layout, etc. So it looks pretty boring bare right now. Anyway, the friends I did make here- I definitely want to stay in touch with, so please come by and visit me! I was so excited when I found out Teri Jo at Amazing Grass was sending me some goodies- especially since they carry RAW products! Thanks Teri!♥

How we got started….
We started out of our garage (well it was really a dining room table) in August of 2002 in San Francisco, California. We were two guys with a desire to build a ‘grass’ roots business that aligned with our passion for the outdoors and a healthy lifestyle.We had each spent 7 years at large telecom companies and met 4 years ago at a start-up telecom company that was trying to break the bandwidth bottleneck, but ended up going broke instead. Working in a start up environment, we witnessed first hand the effect 17 hour work days, lack of exercise and poor eating habits had on many of our colleagues. Constantly hearing people say “I’m exhausted”, “I’m sick” and “I need to get in better shape” seemed to be directly related to stress and diet.

Todd noticed that Brandon seemed immune from the common cold and the contagious mid-afternoon yawn. Brandon’s thumb is the furthest shade from green, but luckily his uncle has continued to run the family dehydrating business that his Grandfather started over 50 years ago. Brandon swore the wheat grass he’d been taking gave him more energy, a stronger immune system and an overall healthier life. He gave some to Todd along with a great book by Ron Seibel called Cereal Grass, What’s in it for you. Within weeks, Todd was a big believer…he developed increased energy throughout the day and saw his need for sleep decrease. In fact, Todd has eluded everything including the common cold since taking wheat grass. Brandon had a long list of friends that were hooked on wheat grass and would often call or stop by when they ran out. His freezer was being raided on a daily basis. (We know this sounds like a scene from Cops, but we swear it was just wheat grass.)

With the help of a college marketing class at Cal Poly SLO, their wives, families and friends, Todd and Brandon started Amazing Grass.

Organic Eats from my Garden

I woke up at 8:30 this morning, put on the coffee and sat down to watch The Bachelorette! I absolutely love this show- I think she picked the right guys to go home this time- although I really dislike Dave- he seems like a bully and VERY controlling, definitely not someone that Jillian needs in her life- I hope she sees his true colors soon! I also watched The Newlyweds- I know, such a silly show- but I only have a few channels, so I can’t be too choosy right? I did weigh in this morning and I was down 2.5 lbs which I was TOTALLY excited about! My mood was kind of deflated by the afternoon though, once I realized that I had been in the house all day and we weren’t going to the gym- once again, I allow people to let me down- I’m so tired of it, seriously. I am going to have to start driving on my own, so that I can go when and where I want to go- I have a major fear of driving (I was in a really bad wreck when I was 17 - my bronco flipped about 4 times w/me & my sister in it and now when I do drive, I grip the steering wheel so hard that my hands turn red- I really need to pray about this..) that I have to get over or move to a city where I can walk/take the metro. I’m so tired of depending on people and being let down- it sucks- it’s my fault really- I shouldn’t depend on people, that is one of my problems, I need absolutely HAVE to be more independent. Right now, I am not happy at the point I am at in my life and I need to make some major changes- no one is to blame, except for me for allowing things to happen the way they have. I need to sit down and do some serious thinking about my life.

Anyway, I did get a couple of things acomplished today- I organized my pictures into folders so now they are easier to find. I also finally did my post for Larabar in hopes of getting some goodies & maybe a free tshirt out of the deal- I seriously LOVE Larabars!

I am going to work on my resume tomorrow- there is a blogging/writing job that I REALLY want and I need to update my resume! I SERIOUSLY need a job right now- I am going stir crazy sitting here at home. Even with my product reviews, gym and keeping the house-I’d like to actually have a paycheck PAYING career.

Does anyone have an actual blogging career? If so, in what field? I plan on going back to college to take up journalism, photography, and maybe even computer programming, etc. to help in my blogging career.

Then I tried the Crispy Cashew Element Bar- this one had a pb taste- very good! Roscoe was begging so I ended up sharing the bar with him-he approved! lol

Time to take my vitamins and head to bed...

So, yesterday, I woke up so tired, but still managed to get so much done! First, Reggie and I hit the gym about 7:10 and did mostly arm work and some abs for 40 minutes and decided to come back later that night to work on the legs some. I put the laundry up, dishes, fertilized the garden, and cleaned the pantry out-I have to put all of the stuff back in later. At lunch, Reggie and I both ended up taking a nap- but I napped a little longer at 1.5 hour nap. I had some coffee and my raw chocolate greens bar when I woke up. I only had about 49 minutes on the replay hard drive, so I HAD to watch & delete some shows so that I could record more. I ended up watching back shows of ET and some Tyra Banks shows. One of her shows was about how to get FREE beauty products, join bday clubs at restaurants, having clothing swap parties (been trying to do that forever with my sisters-I am going to plan a party soon!), and even free travel! So I went online and joined bday clubs or e-clubs at Subway, Quizzno’s, Firehouse subs (free subs on bday), Outback, Chilis, Qdoba Mexican Grill and On the Border (free appetizers for joining). Next week I am going to join Fazolis, Longhorns, Logans and AppleBees- they have to be spaced apart because there is a 2-week period to using the coupons and I already have Quizznos (2 coupons), Ruby Tuesdays, Chili’s, Quizzno’s (free sammie) and Captain D’s (2 pc. fish/fries or chicken/fries for Reggie) to use this week.

Also, I finally joined weightview.com to see how I would look 15 lbs. lighter so they should email my picture soon!

The hubby came home and worked on the house for about 2 hours, then we changed to go to the gym- we did the elliptical for 30 minutes- I burned 412 calories- not too shabby! After the gym, we stopped for Taco Bell and a movie- Mall Cop was so funny, I loved it! It was getting close to 12 p.m. so we decided to go to bed. Since it was so late,we decided to go to the gym around 9 p.m. Tuesday night and work out for a couple of hours.

Sunday was a great day- I helped Reggie bag up more siding and put the house wrap on, did dishes, laundry, fertilized the garden and gave Roscoe a much needed bath. Finally, I did sit down and relax some especially since I had worked SO hard on Saturday. I put on my swimsuit and some sunblock on my face, shoulders and neck- places I tend to get too much sun and grabbed my water, magazines, book and the phone. I called my sister and I told her about my upcoming trip to Vancouver and she said she would love to go, so I was super excited about that- plus we could use the sister time together! She is going to apply for her passport tomorrow (takes about 4-6 weeks, so our trip should be around mid-July)- she also said she would put in a good word for me at her job and I could work part time/as needed like when employees are gone on vacay or are on Sick leave, etc- all I would have to do is answer the phones and do some filing- definitely my type of job, especially right now when I plan on going back to school this year- I don’t want a full time job and get stressed out. Later, I talked to my Mom & also my other sister and we are going to plan a Mother/Daughter Shopping trip- we will do the whole Starbucks, shopping, picnic lunch- we always have so much fun together – we will be going around the first of July, so that will give me PLENTY of time to get my butt into shape! Oh, and to motivate me even more, I am going to put my picture on www.weightview.com so I can see how I look 10-15 lbs. lighter- hopefully, it will let me post the before and afters on here. Anyway, got to go do some things- I will be updating Monday’s post soon!

A busy Saturday!

My Breakfast Yum!

Parents gone out of town-Mom gave me this food so it wouldn't spoil- now I don't need to go food shopping!

Summer=natural FREE highlights- my fave kind!

We didn’t get home until around 11 p.m., so we slept in until 9 a.m.- so we kind of got a late start today. After we had our coffee, we headed over to Reggie’s parents to feed the cats/water the flowers. Once we got back home, we went to work! While Reggie started working on the siding, I started doing laundry, dishes, emptied the trash and then I started making lunch. We went back out after lunch and I helped Reggie by tearing off siding/bagging it- he said I was a big HUGE help, so I was happy. I also mowed the grass,fertilized the garden and weeded the flowerbeds. After that I marinated a filet mignon for Reggie and prepped everything for dinner since he wanted to grill out- it was definitely the perfect day for it! I really wanted to get some tanning/reading in, but I was so busy that I didn’t have time- so maybe tomorow! I also did some research for our trip to Vancouver and I’ve found so many fun things I want to do- if anyone lives/or will be traveling to Vancouver anytime soon, let me know so we can meet up- I don’t want to have to hang out all by myself. Right now I’ve found some great things to do there like the Public Market- it looks awesome! They have all kinds of gourmet/specialty/organic foods! I also want to go to Robson Street to do some shopping/coffee- and go to Stanley Park and take some great pictures. I may have to see if my sister would want to go to keep me company. Anyway, it’s late and I need to catch some zzzz’s so I can some more work done tomorrow! Hope you all have a good night, don’t let the bedbugs bite!:D

So, I finally found something to wear to the party after tearing apart looking through my closet. I almost did the bf jean look aka Katie Holmes Style but decided against it- everyone would definitely know something was up if I came dressed like that, so I opted for the summer dress instead. We stopped on the way to grab a card for PJ and I also picked up a pregnancy test (my sister insisted that I take one, just in case, so I was like wt heck) & eyelash curler while I was there. We ended up being right behind my sister, Shelly & her hubby on the highway so I called her on the cell asking where she was- in front of us durrr! It was funny At least we got there at the same time- although to my credit I did jump out of the car FIRST! haha

The party was SO much fun and I’m so glad that my sister, Becky, forced told me that I should go regardless of howbad I felt. It ended up making me feel so much better and I had the BEST time with everyone- we rode 4-wheelers, had balloon fights, played dodgeball- it was just a great time and the perfect celebration for PJ graduating HS. It definitely made Reggie & I both want to move down closer to family- after we finish our AS degree and transfer to another college- we are going to buy a jetski and probably an airstream for traveling- to us it’s more important to have fun then to own fancy cars or 8,000 sf homes- I’m so excited for our future! Anyhoo, I better get to work- it’ s Saturday afternoon and I have so much that I want to ACCOMPLISH today!!
